JV-Hickory Ridge Ragin Bulls vs. Central Cabarrus Vikings

It was a shut out at "The Ridge" on Thursday night as the Hickory Ridge Ragin Bulls dominate the Vikings of Central Cabarrus 28-0.

In the first quarter, linebacker Josh Chapman put the Ragin Bulls on the board first with an interception that was returned for 60 yards and a touchdown.  In the second quarter, running back TJ Allen put the ball into the end zone with a 10 yard run.  The score at halftime was Ragin Bulls 14, Vikings 0.

In the third quarter, it was D.J. Barnes that put points on the board with a 9 yard run.  And in the fourth quarter, Andrew Reynolds broke loose on the ground for a 35 yard touchdown.  The final score of the game was Ragin Bulls 28, Vikings 0.

Defensively, D.J. Freeman had another good game along with Kyle Komendat.  On special teams the Ragin Bulls were 4 of 4 on PAT's.  Good job special teams and good job JV Ragin Bulls!  Keep up the good work.  Hope to see everyone tonight at the varsity football game.  Go Bulls!

"Play of the Week"

Each week after "Friday Night's" varsity football game, Ragin Bulls fans will be able to vote on the "Play of the Week."  Hickory Ridge High School will be competing against all of the other Central North Carolina High Schools and the winner each week will receive $250.  Each winner of the "Play of the Week" will be eligible for "Play of the Year," the winner of which will receive $2000.  Voting is from Monday at 12pm to Monday at 12pm for the previous Friday night's game.  For example, the deadline to vote on the Marvin Ridge football game is this Monday 9/7/09 at 12pm.  Tonight's football game at Central Cabarrus High School will not be availble to vote on until this Monday 9/7/09 at 12 pm.  If you have any questions, please leave a comment or e-mail Ragin Bull at hrhsraginbull@yahoo.com.

Friday Night Lights at Central Cabarrus High School

Friday night the Hickory Ridge Ragin Bulls face off against the Central Cabarrus Vikings in their first conference matchup.  The rivalry will be hosted by Central Cabarrus High School at 7:30pm.  Last year the Ragin Bulls were victorious and it is every expectation that this Friday will be no different.  Let's show up in herds to support our team and make sure to bring your Ragin Bull cow bell. See you at the game and Go Bulls!

Ragin Bulls vs. Mavericks Media Coverage

Friday Night's game between Hickory Ridge and Marvin Ridge was WBTV channel 3's Game of the Week. Time Warner Cable will be broadcasting the game tomorrow on channel 1234. Check your local listing for the exact time of the televised game.

Hickory Ridge Ragin Bulls vs. Marvin Ridge Mavericks

In the third annual Battle of the Ridge between the Hickory Ridge Ragin Bulls and the Marvin Ridge Mavericks, it was the Mavericks who arose victorious winning 31 to 6. In the first quarter, Marvin Ridge marched the ball down the field and scored by punching the ball in from the 1 yard line. Hickory Ridge answered by completing a great 75 yard pass from Blake Sides to Jacolby Thompson for a touchdown. After getting the ball back, the Mavericks managed to get the ball back into the Ragin Bulls red zone. The Ragin Bulls defense held the Mavericks forcing them to kick a field goal. At the end of the first quarter the score was Mavericks 10 Ragin Bulls 6.

In the second quarter there were a series of turnovers and penalities which were converted into points by the Mavericks. Tyler Chadwick connected with K.J. Brent on two passing plays for touchdowns making the score at halftime Mavericks 24 Ragin Bulls 6.

In the beginning of the third quarter, the Maverick's Tyler Chadwick connected once again with K.J. Brent on a 57 yard touchdown pass. In the fourth quarter, Dillon Burdette's defensive pressure on the Mavericks quarterback led to an interception by Kyle Temple for an 18 yard return. It was a defensive game in the second half with only 6 points scored. The final score was Mavericks 31 Ragin Bulls 6.
