NCHSAA 3AA State Playoffs-Round 1

Congratulations to the Hickory Ridge Ragin Bulls football team for their first ever NCHSAA State Playoff victory against North Forsyth.  The Ragin Bulls won 25-6 in the first round game at North Forsyth. In the first quarter, QB Nick Moelle scored on the quarterback keeper from the 1 yard line.  In the second quarter, CB Ryan McGill scored on an interception that was  returned 63 yards for a TD.  The score at the half was 12-0 Ragin Bulls.  In the third quarter, RB Brian Baltimore scored from the 1 yard line.  In the fourth quarter, RB Brian Baltimore scored on a 16 yard run.  The final score was Ragin Bulls 25, NF 6.

Brian Baltimore rushed for 224 yards on 43 carries and had 2 TD's.  On the defense, DL Noble Ajakaiye had 7 tackles, 4 TFL, 2 sacks, 2FF, and 1 FR. LB Dale Brown had 6 tackles, 2 TFL, 2 PD, 2 sacks, and 1 FF.  DE Dillon Burdette had 4 tackles, 3TFL, 1sack, 1PD, and 1 FR.  LB Eugene Antwi had 4 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 sack, 1PD, and 1FR.  Dakota Shoe also had a sack and Danny Boook had a blocked punt and 2 FR.  Josh Freeman had an interception off of a pass deflection by Dale Brown.

The Ragin Bulls defense had 6 sacks on the night and held North Forsyth to -37 yards rushing.  The Ragin Bulls recovered 3 fumbles that were forced, had 2 interceptions, and did not turn the ball over themselves all night.  What a difference turnovers make!  HRHS had 259 yards of total offense with 231 coming on the ground.

This Friday night the #9 seed Hickory Ridge Ragin Bulls travel to Greensboro to face the #1 seed Northern Guilford in the District Championship.  Kickoff is at 7:30pm.  Please come out to support your Ragin Bulls football team and do not forget to bring your cow bell.  Go Bulls!

Gridiron Great

Congratulations to Brian Baltimore for being last week's winner of channel 9 WSOC TV High School Football Extra Gridiron Great.  In the Ragin Bulls football game against JM Robinson, Brian had 354 yards of rushing on 37 carries and 3 touchdowns.  For his efforts, and for winning the Gridiron Great, Hickory Ridge High School will receive $500.  You can watch the Gridiron Great segment by clicking on the Media Coverage link to 9 WSOC TV on this webpage.  Congratulations to Brian Baltimore and Hickory Ridge High School.  Go Bulls!
