Hickory Ridge Ragin Bulls vs. Porter Ridge Pirates

It was a long night for the Ragin Bulls loosing 39 to 6 in the third meeting of this non-conference matchup.  In the first quarter, it only took Porter Ridge three plays to score.  On  the Pirates third posession of the game, QB Lee McNeil threw down the right side of the field to Ryan Patty for a 21 yard TD.  On the ensuing kickoff the Ragin Bulls would get the ball on their own twenty yard line.  Then,on their second offensive play, they would fumble the balll in the backfield.  The Pirates P.J. Freeman would recover the fumble around the Ragin Bull 15 yard line and return it for a TD.  This would be the Pirates second TD in the first four minuites of the game.  The score at the end of the first quarter was the Pirates 12 and the Ragin Bulls 0.

In the second quarter, Ragin Bull Danny Book would deflect the pass from the Pirates QB for an interception and return it 35 yards for the TD.  This would be the the only Ragin Bull points of the night.  The Pirates would answer on their very next offensive play with a 67 yard TD by Tyler Sierra.  The score at halftime was Pirates 18, Ragin Bulls 6.

The second half would be all Porter Ridge.  In the third quarter, two different Pirate quarterbacks would score twice in a row.  First, it would be the Pirates QB #14 Lee McNeil around the right end for a 3 yard TD run.  Then, it would be the Pirates QB #5 Devin Martin around the left end with a 14 yard TD run.  The score at the end of the third quarter was Pirates 32, Ragin Bulls 6.

In the fourth quarter, the Pirates QB #5 Devin Martin would score again, throwing the ball for a 6 yard TD.  The final score was the Pirates 39 to the Ragin Bulls 6.

Penalties and turnovers would plague the Ragin Bulls again.  Hickory Ridge had 11 penalties for 122 yards and lost the ball 5 times on fumbles.  The Pirates did a good job defensively allowing the Ragin Bulls only 7 first downs, 60 yards rushing, 28 yards passing, and 88 yards of total offense.

This coming week is a bye week for the Ragin Bulls, so there will not be a game this coming Friday.  The Ragin Bulls next football game will be homecoming against Cox Mill.  The game will be on Oct. 3 and it will be the first time the two teams have ever met.  Kickoff is at 7:30pm.  Please come out to support the Ragin Bulls football team and do not forget to bring your cow bell.  See you at the game and Go Bulls!
